Well this is just beautiful

Never liked that song until now.  Eerie and beautiful.

  1. This has been going around. I don't get it. Not only is it not my thing, but I really don't like it one bit.

  2. The first time I heard it, Luke, I cringed--I loathe "jazzing up" songs that are old but perfectly good. But only for the first 10 seconds, and then I realized this was not a lame, purposeless jazz-up, but a true re-interpretation, like the original flowed into the artist' ears and this is how it naturally flowed back out.

I find I cannot not get it out of my head.

Shadowfax, since you liked Cake Wrecks, I have been wanting to show you something else, if you have not already seen it: http://www.amazon.com/Mountain-Mens-Three-Short-Sleeve/dp/B002HJ377A/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

  3. "Favorite Things" was picked up in the jazz world back in the 1960's. I was never sure what the attraction was, but I think the 3/4 time was part of it.

There is a certain irony since Richard Rodgers was very strongly in the "play/sing it as I wrote it, no changes" school.
