  1. Except in this case, it's not about Mother Theresa, or Oprah in Africa, or Bangalore...

It's about Americans saying fuck Americans.

    I feel your pain.

Come to Canada, we'll adopt you.

  3. It's what the poor do when they vote for these jerks, too. We might be one of 'em someday, so we've gotta protect their interests - fuck those poor, lazy jerks!

I've already joined the ranks of the working poor, why not join the ranks of the poor-haters, too?

  4. As a christian, I would much prefer that my government take money forcibly from me to kill people than help them?

That's not my kind of Christianity. I don't recognise it, and I can't see how Jesus does either.

Its seems that some people believe that social stability is a given, a constant, a passive process.

Its actually an incredibly complex, fragile, and active process that I worry about constantly. Too much poverty (actual and/or perceived)can destroy the stability and then no one has any fun.

Oh, and also compassion for the less fortunate. We're lucky with the parents/teachers/biology we received. Others were not as lucky and deserve some help. Karma and whatnot.
