I really must be getting even more cynical than I thought. Mr Cronkite and all other "anchormen/women" are simply news reporters. They read the news to us. They are not experts because of their position, they are more like actors/actresses who read news instead of a script. Nothing personal, and I am sorry that this gentleman died, but for goodness sake, he READ THE NEWS TO US.
