Modern Capitalism, explained by Calvin

calvin fails at capitalism_55384.jpg

I had forgotten this one (h/t Crooks & Liars).  See here for the complete strip, and consider whether this accurately reflects the state of modern American capitalism.

Kinda spooky, isn't it?

I don't think the problem is with the capitalism model or companies/ corporations. The problem is back to the individuals: greedy CEOs and Boards of Directors who sign contracts with CEOs, giving said CEOs bonuses even if the company is not profitable.

Whether you have capitalism, socialism, or communism, the problems lie with individual scumbags who abuse or "game" the system. Whether it's CEOs, lawyers, judges, or politicians, the blame goes back to a few individuals in key places who only want benefits for themselves.

I have just about all the Calvin and Hobbes books, and forgot about this one too. How eerie!
