Gaah

First-born Son recently learned "My Country, 'tis of Thee," in kindergarten, and it is his favorite song.  He sings it all the time, as a high-pitched, atonal dirge, with most of the words wrong, over and over.

AND I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD.

Kill me now.

  1. Were any of your kids around for the "Barney" years? If not, you really don't know the meaning of the word, "torture."

  2. I'm not sure if this is more of an indication that your are a bad father, or that you are not a patriot.

  3. Try this:

"It's a small world after all..."

    Repeat as needed.

  5. Just wait until the 1st grade end-of-the-year singing program...

    "I'm not afraid."
    "You will be."

  6. Be thankful. My kindergartener's favorite song, sung incessantly, with accompanying gestures, is "The Twelve Days of Christmas."
