One Day More!

One more day before the storm,
At the barricades of freedom.
When our ranks begin to form,
Will you take your place with me?

Tomorrow we'll be far away,
Tomorrow is the judgment day,
Tomorrow we'll discover what our Lord in heaven has in store:
One more dawn,
One more day,
One day more!

Still gives me chills after all these years.

An, ahem, more authentic version is here.

Say, how'd it turn out for those idealistic young revolutionaries, anyway?

Between that one and "Do You Hear The People Sing", the hairs on my arms are standing up :) Must be all of the hope. Nice find!

They overturned a corrupt monarchy.

And in the long run, we're all dead anyway.

Few revolutionaries die in bed. The American revolutionaries stand out in this matter because a fair number of them did.

I am supposed to muster tomorrow at 5:30 a.m., but I can't sleep. It will end badly. Not tomorrow, but eventually. There will be scandals and missed opportunities. There will missteps and misdeeds. The cynics are always right eventually. But the fact remains sentimental hope addicts like me can't help it.
